Build a Sales Qualification Agent with ClawDeploy
By Edward Monzon
The SDR bottleneck
Your website gets traffic. Some of those visitors are ready to buy. But they land at 11pm, or on a Saturday, or while your sales team is in back-to-back meetings. By Monday morning, they've evaluated a competitor.
Inbound leads have a half-life. Research shows that responding within 5 minutes makes you 21x more likely to qualify a lead than waiting 30 minutes. Most teams respond in hours. Some never respond at all.
An AI sales agent eliminates this bottleneck entirely.
What we're building
A sales qualification agent that:
- Engages visitors instantly — 24/7, sub-2-second response time
- Asks qualifying questions — budget, timeline, team size, use case
- Scores leads using BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timeline)
- Books meetings for qualified leads via Google Calendar
- Hands off gracefully when a lead needs a human conversation
Step 1: Create the agent
In ClawDeploy, click New Agent:
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | sales-agent |
| Model | Claude Sonnet 4.6 |
| Template | Sales Assistant |
Step 2: Craft the system prompt
The Sales Assistant template provides a solid base. Customize the qualification criteria:
You are a sales qualification agent for [Your Company].
Your product: [one-line description and price range].
Your job:
1. Greet the visitor warmly and ask what brought them here
2. Understand their use case through natural conversation
3. Qualify them using BANT criteria:
- Budget: Can they afford the product?
- Authority: Are they a decision-maker?
- Need: Do they have a genuine problem you solve?
- Timeline: Are they looking to buy soon?
4. For qualified leads (3+ BANT criteria met):
offer to book a demo with the sales team
5. For unqualified leads: be helpful, share relevant
resources, invite them to the newsletter
Rules:
- Never be pushy or aggressive
- Never fabricate product capabilities
- If asked about competitors, be honest and factual
Step 3: Add product knowledge
Go to Settings → Knowledge and add:
- Pricing page content (all tiers and features)
- FAQ document with common objections and responses
- Case studies (2-3 customer success stories with metrics)
- Product feature list with accurate descriptions
The agent will reference this knowledge base to answer questions accurately instead of making things up.
Step 4: Connect Google Calendar
Go to Settings → MCP Integrations → Google Calendar and authorize.
Now your agent can:
- Check availability for your sales team
- Book meetings directly into the right calendar
- Send confirmation emails with meeting links
Step 5: Set up lead scoring
Your agent can score leads in real time. Add scoring instructions to the system prompt:
After the conversation, provide a lead score:
Hot (80-100): 3-4 BANT criteria met, ready to buy this quarter
Warm (50-79): 2 BANT criteria met, interested but not urgent
Cold (0-49): Exploring, no budget or timeline
Include the score in the meeting notes when booking.
Step 6: Embed on your website
Add the chat widget to high-intent pages:
<script
src="https://sales-agent.clawdeploy.cuemby.io/widget.js"
data-position="bottom-right"
data-greeting="Hi! Looking to automate something?
I can help you figure out if we are a good fit."
async
></script>
Best pages to embed:
- Pricing page — visitors here are comparing options
- Product page — they're evaluating features
- Homepage — catch everyone, qualify on the spot
- Blog posts — readers researching the problem you solve
What a real conversation looks like
Agent: Hi! Thanks for checking us out. What brings you to ClawDeploy today?
Visitor: We're looking at automating some of our customer support. Our team is drowning in tier-1 tickets.
Agent: I hear that a lot! Support automation is one of our most popular use cases. A few quick questions to see if we're a good fit — how many support tickets does your team handle per month?
Visitor: About 2,000. We have 4 support agents but they spend most of their time on basic questions.
Agent: That's a solid use case. Our customers typically see 70-85% deflection on tier-1 tickets. Two more questions: Do you have a budget in mind, and when are you looking to get started?
Visitor: We have budget approval for Q2, looking to pilot in the next 2 weeks.
Agent: Great — sounds like you're a strong fit. Would you like me to book a 30-minute demo with our team? I can show you exactly how the support bot template works.
Lead score: 90 (Hot) — Budget approved, clear need, immediate timeline.
